Veda - The Smart Classroom ("we", "our", or "us") provides a unified digital classroom platform. This Privacy Policy outlines our commitment to transparency and our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of data for teachers, students, and educational institutions.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to facilitate the educational experience:

• Personal Identifiers: Name, email address, and profile pictures provided during registration.
• Educational Records: Class names, subject details, student attendance, quiz scores, and academic performance data.
• Identity Documents: Photos of students or teachers used for identity verification within the school environment.

2. Device Permissions (Camera & Privacy)

The App requests the following permissions to enable specific educational features:

The camera is used for:

• Scanning QR codes: To quickly join classrooms or verify attendance.
• Identity Verification: Capturing a profile photo to verify student identity.

Note: We do not access the camera in the background or without an active user request.

📁 Storage & Media Access

To protect your privacy, Veda uses the Android System Photo Picker for selecting media. This means:

• Privacy First: We do not have broad access to your entire photo library. We only receive access to the specific files you manually select.
• Profile Customization: You can safely select a profile image from your device.
• Resource Management: We use system-approved methods to save study resources, PDF notes, and assignments shared by teachers to your downloads folder.

3. Children’s Privacy Policy

As Veda is used in educational settings, we prioritize the protection of children under the age of 13:

• Institutional Consent: We rely on schools or teachers to obtain appropriate parental consent before students under 13 use the platform.
• Minimal Data Collection: We do not collect more information from children than is reasonably necessary to participate in the classroom activities.
• No Advertising: We do not serve advertisements within the app, and we never use children’s data for behavioral advertising.

4. How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used strictly for academic and administrative purposes:

• To enable classroom connectivity between teachers and students.
• To track and report academic progress and attendance.
• To maintain a secure and identified school environment.
• We **NEVER** sell, rent, or trade your data with third parties.

5. Data Security & Encryption

We believe that student data must be treated with the highest security standards:

• Encryption: All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using 256-bit SSL/TLS protocols.
• Restricted Access: Access to classroom data is restricted only to authorized teachers and school administrators within your specific institution.

6. Your Rights and Controls

You have full control over your data:

• Access and Update: You can update your profile information at any time.
• Revoke Permissions: You can withdraw camera and storage permissions through your device settings.
• Data Deletion: Users (or administrators) can request the deletion of their accounts and associated data.
