Class 8 Mathematics Chapter 102: Practice Paper · Annual

Practice Paper · Annual is Chapter 102 of NCERT / CBSE Class 8 Mathematics. This page has the complete chapter notes — all written to the NCERT / CBSE syllabus and free to read.

How to Use the Annual Paper

An 80-mark rehearsal over all fourteen chapters, weighted towards the second half because the half-yearly paper already covered the first.

What you will be able to do

  • Sit an 80-mark paper over the whole book in three hours.
  • Mark your own work against a scheme rather than an impression.
  • Compare the result with the half-yearly paper to tell a faded chapter from one never learnt.

Full explanation

What this paper is

One paper of 80 marks over the whole book, all fourteen chapters. Three hours, closed book. Class 8 has no board exam, so this is a rehearsal rather than a real one, and a rehearsal is worth sitting honestly.

Why it leans on the second half

The half-yearly paper already examined chapters 1 to 7, so this one puts more weight on chapters 8 to 14 without dropping the first half. Of the twenty one-mark questions, eight come from the earlier chapters and twelve from the later ones.

How the 80 marks are laid out

Twenty one-mark questions with four options, then twelve two-mark questions and six three-mark ones. After those comes a case study worth 6 in four parts. Last are two six-mark questions wanting an explanation, not a number.

Sitting it properly

Keep the book shut for the whole three hours. Give the two six-mark questions twenty minutes each, because they carry the same marks as twelve of the one-markers between them and are much easier to lose.

What to do with the result

Mark it against the scheme, which says where each mark sits. Then write the chapter number beside every mark you dropped and total them by chapter. Comparing those totals with the half-yearly ones shows which chapters faded and which never landed.
